About Me

Rachel studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Holloway, University of London, and has a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Performance from Salford University. 

Freelance playing spans symphony, chamber and opera orchestras, including Welsh National Opera, London Festival Opera, The Camerata of London, the West End Theatre and the contemporary Tacet Ensemble. 

Concerto and recital performances have taken her around Europe and to Japan, Zimbabwe and the USA. In the UK she has given recitals at the Fairfield Halls, St John’s Smith Square, the National Theatre, the National Gallery, Kensington Palace and the Royal Pavilion Brighton to critical acclaim. In addition, Rachel regularly performs in the Brighton, Edinburgh, City of London and Canterbury Festivals. 

Rachel has made numerous recordings and broadcasts for TV and film, including BBC Radios 3’s Hear and Now and Radio 4’s Classic Serial. Her playing has inspired new works from several British composers, some of whom are included on her first CD Summer was in August, which has featured on Classic FM. 

Rachel is a qualified coach and mentor and is passionate about inspiring others to fulfil their goals and dreams. She has tutored at the University of West London, examined for Trinity College London, reviewed for Sheet Music Review Magazine and part produced and edited both volumes of The Ragtime Flute.
